Young Kids Living On Welfare Can Make Them Lazy
Even young kids graduating from high school can ignore higher education (college), even with the full support thru the State Vocational Rehabilitation agency. My son broke my heart when he did not want to pursue a real career thru college education, but instead he immediately applied for the SSI support as soon as he turned to 18 years and then moved out to live with his high school girlfriend in another city. He has potentials to succeed academically if he could go directly to college. He chooses not to.
At first, he went to an university for one semester but quitted in the middle of the second semester by stating that he wanted to live in Germany while playing the paintball sports for the paintball sponsors. You see, he is only 18 years old with some wild ideas in his head. Thanks to his SSI benefits, he can do anything he want on his own life. He also applied for food stamp. I feel powerless not being able to stop him from blowing away his future by wasting his time on some silly ideas.
The idea of seeing a very young man living off the welfare angered me. His ignorance of his potentials appalled me. Only if the SSI benefits could not be available to the young kids, especially at the age of 18 years, then he/she will learn what it takes o succeed thru the discipline of hardships. I am disgusted how my son learned all kinds of benefits thru his girlfriend that I do not approve of (actually she came from a broken home)
I'll still waiting for him to wake up. But the question is ... how long?
