Perhaps Darren...

Would like to meet Pono Tokioka, the All Star Pony baseball player who successfully sued the National Pony League for discrimination, made the All Star league several times, and happens to wear a cochlear implant, too.
I'm sure a Google search will lead you to his story.

Wow. That was strange. That is the first time I am reading about someone baked somewhere. What a song, I say. customessay-s.com

Fantastic!!

Fantastic contribution! I just finished reading the results of the Google search on Pono, and I am amazed that the PONY League was so blatant in their discrimination against him.

Their stance on the interpreter in the dugout being considered a fourth coach would be the educational equivalent of considering an interpreter in school as a teacher and not providing a teacher for the class, basically.

This young man and his family are true role models. They did not actively seek monetary damages, they only sought that the rules me amended to conform with the ADA and allow him equal opportunity. This is in keeping with the spirit of the ADA, which is sometimes too often abused by people in an effort to extract money, which detracts from it's true intent of providing equal opportunity. While they did in fact receive monetary awards as a result, it was a byproduct of the PONY League's blatant disregard for the ADA and was basically a punitive award.

Thanks so much for sharing this with us, I only wonder why this did not make bigger news on the "mainland" here?
