I applaud you
by: Anonymous

Sure wish my granddaughter were allowed to choose when she can be deaf. I found a letter to the judge she had written in a notebook. It said:
"dear JudGe
When I grow up you better Let me be incharge of my hearing ok. I Know that when im a Kid i have to Lisin"
She is 8 years old. She has been forced to wear her implants since she was 7. She got the second one when she was 5 1/2, her first when she was 13 months old. Her mom didn't even tell her she was getting the second one until she was on the operating table. I think it was because they didn't want her to spill the beans to her Deaf dad! The mom even put her husband down on the clinic information sheet as her dad. That is how far some people will go to try to force a Deaf child to stay away from the DEAF!
