Just like the American Indians?

If the powers that be would devote as much money and resources to helping deaf children and their parents learn ASL as they do to the "surgery will 'fix' them" philosophy,the children could really benefit. As seen from our history though, particularly the American Indian era, it's always better to steal the children and the culture from "savages" and force them to adapt to "our" supposed superior view. Makes you wonder - who is really the "savage" in this picture?
